Abstract
Fire officers have been baffled by occupational-related
challenges, which are detrimental to their quality of work-life and job
satisfaction. This quantitative study primarily described and determined the
relationship between quality of work-life and job satisfaction of fire officers in
Cotabato province, Philippines. Using Easton and Laar’s (2012) Work-Related
Quality of Life (WRQoL) Scale and Spector’s (1985) Job Satisfaction Scale
(JSS), an online survey was conducted among ninety-one (91) fire officers from
selected municipalities in Cotabato Province. The analyses from the descriptive
statistics revealed that the fire officers have moderate and high levels of quality
of life and job satisfaction as manifested in their overall mode of 3.00 and 4.00,
respectively. Moreover, the results from Spearman's rank correlation
coefficient test revealed a significant moderate linear relationship between
work-life quality and job satisfaction (N=91, ρ= 0.515 * ,   p-value=0.001<.05).
Thus, rejecting the null hypothesis. The researchers recommend that further
research employing other research approaches/methodologies or including
more respondents may be pursued to come up with more robust results.
