Abstract
KEY POINTS:

• RECU-NCR’S deployable EDDs and NDDs fails significantly short with the ideal number per field units. With this concern, the PNP identified the breeding program as an option for successfully producing the proposed quantity of PSDs.

• The present breeding in RECU-NCR has produced 80-98% successful offspring for EDDs. The breeding program’s 100% success rate is rarely achieved due to a variety of circumstances and resource management factors such as the availability of funds, the repair and maintenance of equipment, and the sufficiency of manpower.

• Recommendations include providing additional funding for the breeding program, procuring green dogs, recruitment of additional veterinary officer and K9 handlers, and approving training programs to address program issues.
