Public health emergencies pose special challenges for law enforcement, whether the threat is manmade (terrorist attacks) or naturally occurring (e.g., flu pandemics). Policing strategies will vary depending on the cause and level of the threat, as will the potential risk to the responding officers. Fin a public health emergency, law enforcement will need to quickly coordinate its response with the public health and medical officials, many of whom they may not have worked with previously. Depending on the threat, law enforcement’s role may include enforcing public health orders (e.g., quarantines or travel restrictions), securing the perimeter of the contaminated areas, securing healthcare facilities, controlling crowds, investigating scenes of suspected biological terrorism, and protecting national stockpiles of vaccines or other medicines, in a large-scale incident, such as a pandemic, law enforcement resources will quickly become overwhelmed, and law enforcement officials will have to balance their resources and efforts between these new responsibilities and everyday service demands. The present investigation aims to describe the status of mental health of police offices Region IV-A, the precautionary measures the employ to address COVID-19 infection, their perceived organizational support and its relationship to job satisfaction. This study therefore is conceived with the ultimate goal of describing the health concerns of police officers and measures implemented to ensure that police officers assigned in PNP Regional Office IV-A. The study shall be conducted in the months of October and November; the collection of data shall be done online using the adopted research questionnaires. Policy recommendations shall be presented at the end if the study.
