Abstract
ABSTRACT

In today's complex and dynamic financial environment, the competency levels of
personnel within the Financial Management Division are integral to an
organization's success. Financial management involves critical activities such as
budgeting, forecasting, investment analysis, risk management, and financial
reporting.
This study presents a conceptual framework on how strategies like Job
Shadowing, Support Training Learning and Team workshop helps increase the
competency level of the personnel. The methodological considerations were
elaborated with the use of an Action Research which is a methodical, cyclical
strategy that combines quantitative and qualitative methodologies in order to find
an intervention or course of action that will benefit and significantly alter the
situation for those with a stake in the problem. This research has widened our
perspective regarding effective strategies to enhance the competency level of
personnel in the Financial Management Division presenting the Job Shadowing as
the mostly favored strategy. Furthermore, the data that were gathered were based
from the FMD personnel’s’ point of view by the use of FGD and Individual
interviews.
The findings also suggest the need for more comprehensive investigation on how
personnel assess their current workloads and whether these workloads enhance
their capabilities and strengths.
Finally, it has been considered whether intervention from coworkers with previous
experience in the Financial Management Division is necessary.
