Abstract
The aim of this case study is to make an assessment on the crime scene preservation guidelines of barangay officials as first responders in Barangay Hagdan Bato-Itaas, Mandaluyong City. There were 25 PNP and 25 people in the community that were taken as respondents for the study. This study utilized the Descriptive Research of study using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The data implies both group of respondents acknowledge that the indicators about crime scene preservation guidelines is being implemented by barangay officials in Hagdan Bato-Itaas, Mandaluyong City as the first responders and security and control of the crime scene with only responses as Strongly Agree and Agree. However, it is not its full implementation since the repondents observed that there are still some problems regarding it. Therefore, it is just suitable that a policy be propose to enhance the crime scene preservation guidelines of barangay officials in Hagdan Bato-Itaas, Mandaluyong City as included in this study. It is recommended that review on the crime scene preservation guidelines may be done to the barangay officials for its full implementation, trainings and seminars maybe conducted to all barangay officials involved in the crime scene preservation and strict monitoring on the crime scene preservation guidelines maybe practiced.
