ABSTRACT

This study is an Action Research with the title: ADDRESSING DELAYS THROUGH THE USE OF TWO-WAY RADIOS DURING FIREFIGHTING OPERATIONS IN TUGUEGARAO CITY FIRE STATION. The overarching issue is “How has the BFP benefited from using two-way radios rather than mobile phones during firefighting operations?” The study has the following objectives: Analyze the benefits of using two-way radios over mobile phones at the time of firefighting operations; Assess gathered data using an established theoretical framework from the previous study which may be applicable in creating a detailed review to identify the advantages of using two-way radios; Identify a possible solution to address the problem of the BFP Department.

The researchers have used the ORJI model, Mind Map Model, Lewin’s model of change, and IPO framework in the conduct of this study. To help us with the validation and interpretation of the information gathered, data was also sourced through the relevant government offices.

We were able to identify the contributing elements and suggest ways to deal with the challenges we saw with the help of our collaborators. The procurement of radio equipment and providing relevant pieces of training on how to properly use it is encouraged in this study.
