Abstract
KEY POINTS:


• RA 9344 or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006 is a system that deals with children at risk (CAR) and Children in conflict with the law (CICL) that ensures their normal growth and development by offering child appropriate procedures, programs and services for the prevention, diversion, rehabilitation, reintegration and aftercare of the said individuals.

• Since the inception of RA 9344, the awareness brought positive effects in informing the youth of their rights, responsibilities and role towards progress. However, enhanced awareness allowed for a more comprehensive approach within the community that lead to a significant increase of the number of recorded cases;

• The case study is a testament of the commitment of the researchers in the possibility of enhancing the program towards sustainable progress and development of the community. It is their fervent hope for the standardization of the program to be adopted by other communities as well
