Abstract
This evidence-based study investigates the prevalence of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) among healthcare workers are the Philippine National Police General Hospital during the initial wave of the COVID-19 outbreak. The pandemic has imposed significant challenges and stress on HCW’s on the frontlines battling the virus. However, data on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder among Healthcare Workers at Philippine National Police General Hospital is scarce, indicating a lack of established mental health policies within the hospital.

Using a cross-sectional design, an online survey was administered to 50 participants, including doctors, nurses, medical technologists, radiologic technologist, pharmacists and other healthcare providers. The study examines negative impact of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in Healthcare Workers and identifies coping mechanisms used by these frontline workers during the pandemic. The findings underscore the urgent need for comprehensive mental health support and policy implementation within healthcare facilities like Philippine National Police General Hospital. The lack of data on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder among Healthcare Workers raises the possibility that mental health problems are not appropriately handled, which could have long-term effects on the well-being of medical professionals in PNPGH.

This study clarifies the incidence of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder among Healthcare Workers during the pandemic and emphasizes the importance of prioritizing frontline workers’ mental health support. Recognizing and addressing healthcare workers’ mental health challenges will better equip them to deliver quality are amidst challenging circumstances.
