IMPLEMENTATION AND PROBLEMS OF PPO-TAWI-TAWI IN THE ANTI CRIMINALITY CAMPAIGN: BASIS FOR ACTION PLAN DEVELOPMENT

Abstract
This study conducted to assess the challenges on the implementation of anti-criminality campaign and its impact on the promotion of peace and order and security in Tawi-Tawi province for school year 2020-2021. It utilized the quantitative – qualitative method of research involving 100 selected PNP personnel as respondents. Survey questionnaire -checklists and structured questions were used in gathering data, weighted mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis were used in the statistical treatment of data.
Implementation of anti-criminality campaign in Tawi-Tawi province fin terms of anti-terrorism campaign and prevention of violent extremism respectively as evident. Likewise, the impact of anti-criminality campaign in promoting peace and order and security in Taawi-Tawi province. The implementation of anti-criminality campaign in Tawi-Tawi province in terms of anti-terrorism campaign and prevention of violent extremism has significant impact on the promotion of peace and order and security in Tawi-Tawi province. It reveals further that the implementation of anti-terrorism campaign ad prevention of violent extremism are good predictors of the promotion of peace and order and security in the province.
It is recommended that the PPO – Tawi-Tawi should review and strengthen their programs , policies, projects and activities inputted in the implementation of anti-criminality campaign in the province, create a policy on utilizing Social Media Platform which will be utilized as Sumbungan ng Bayan and installation of CCTV Cameras in every Barangay of the Municipalities; likewise, a PNP – Special Action Unit under the PPO in Tawi-tawi province to regularly conduct seaborne patrol in every Municipality of the province, which may also serve as Border Coastal Security to have a quick reaction unit that an easily access every island to preempt criminality.
Hence, additional PNP personnel is also recommended; initiate/conduct seminars, symposium and establish linkages with other line agencies, private sectors and local government units including Barangay Officials to facilitate effective information dissemination; develop and implement an action plan for effective implementation of anti-criminality campaign in Tawi-Tawi province.
