Abstract
ABSTRACT
The study focused on the Status of Expired Firearms Licenses in Quezon Province. The study is a descriptive type of research. The respondents are the Police Officers in Quezon Province handling expired firearms licenses. The study will make use of the questionnaire as the main guide of the study. Statistical tools will be used in measuring and analyzing the results. The status of expired firearms licenses in Quezon Province has raised concerns regarding public safety and legal compliance. This research endeavors to shed light on the extent of this issue by providing a comprehensive analysis of the current state of unrenewed firearm licenses within the province. By adopting a descriptive research approach and engaging with the key stakeholders responsible for handling expired licenses, namely the Police Officers in Quezon Province, this study aims to uncover critical insights that can inform the development of a strategic action pan.
The significance of this research lies in its potential to contribute to the enhancement of public safety and the promotion o responsible firearm ownership. As firearms are prevalent in various aspects of Filipino society, including personal protection, sports shooting, and hurting, it is imperative to ensure that these firearms are in the hands of individuals who meet the necessary legal requirements and standards. Understanding the reasons behind unrenewed firearm licenses, whether they stem from administrative challenges, lack of awareness, or other factors, is essential to crafting an effective strategic action plan.
The research methodology will involve the distribution of carefully designed questionnaires to the Police Officers in Quezon Province. The questionnaire will serve as the primary tool for data collection, allowing for a systematic and structured approach to gather information regarding the status of expired firearms licenses. Additionally, statistical tools will be employed to analyze the collected data, providing a quantitative basis for the findings and recommendations presented in the research.
The outcomes of this research are anticipated to serve as a foundational resource for policymakers, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant stakeholders in Quezon Province. By identifying the key challenges and underlying causes of unrenewed firearm licenses, the proposed strategic action plan can be tailored to address theses issues effectively, ultimately contributing to improved public safety, legal compliance, and the responsible exercise of firearm ownership rights in the region.
