Abstract
ABSTRACT

In firefighting, one of the reliable assets for every station are firetrucks. In the
Philippines, procurement of such equipment may be tedious due to the process it takes
to have these assets. Once procured, these assets are assigned to various fire stations in
the country.
The mountainous terrain of the Cordillera Administrative Region, with its steep
slopes and rough roads, poses significant challenges during fire response operations.
These conditions contribute to a unique pattern of wear and tear on the fire trucks
operating in this region. In contrast, the Ilocos Region, bordered by the shorelines of
the West Philippine Sea, presents a different set of atmospheric conditions that also
affect the longevity and performance of fire trucks.
This study presents a theoretical framework designed to identify and compare
the patterns of wear and tear on fire trucks assigned to these two distinct regions. By
understanding how geographic and environmental factors influence the deterioration of
fire trucks, the Bureau of Fire Protection can implement more effective maintenance
strategies, ensuring operational readiness and extending the service life of these critical
assets.
Finally, some action for the maintenance of these equipment may clear a way to
the life cycle of these equipment. As modernization takes place in the Bureau of Fire
Protection, modern methods of operation and maintenance may push the agency to
achieve monumental success towards its goal of a fire safe nation.
