Abstract
The study aimed to determine the awareness of the community on the drug prevention programs of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Mambusao, Capiz. The respondents of this study were the 90 residents who were selected through stratified random sampling method and was identified using G* power version 3.0 with and effect size of 0.3; level of significance set at 0.05 alpha. The descriptive type of research was used in the study. The current status of the drug prevention program is better level condition. In addition, the community is highly aware on drug prevention program. The community encountered problems such as the personnel are reliable, sustained collaborative linkage with the different units in the implementation and improvements of system based projects, and develop cooperation and understanding among the PNP. It is concluded that the implementation of drug prevention program was properly established and with proper information dissemination and education campaign as well as the cooperation and coordination among and between the resident and the Philippine National Police can develop team work. Further, it is recommended that educational and information campaign materials may be improved such language or dialects so that it can be easily understood by partner civil society and strengthen the conduct of community outreach programs. The Chief of Police should encourage some Police Officers to attend seminars, workshops and trainings to further enhance their effectiveness to serve and protect the community.
