ABSTRACT

This action research aims to implement an enhanced program as an effective mechanism for implementing Fire Safety Enforcement in Surigao del Sur. The current assessment on fire safety enforcement identified best practices since most of the respondents have high responses in terms of the conduct of fire safety inspections, the conduct of training among fire safety inspectors, and knowledge of the Fire Safety Implementation Plan. Thus, the result of this study is to recommend among policymakers to improve fire safety enforcement, through training, inspection, awareness, and related campaign, as the BFP continues to perform its mandates and functions.

The program should be enhanced as to the additional purchase of equipment and manpower for fire safety inspectors in the conduct of the inspection. This may entail an allocation of budget from the BFP; therefore, a proper policy should be recommended essential for the improvement of working performance among fire safety inspectors.

Another factor to be considered is remodeling the training design for all fire safety inspectors. Mandatory attendance and refresher courses are needed to equip fire safety inspectors with the skills needed to upgrade their knowledge as they perform their duties and responsibilities.

Moreover, developing a systematic program may lead to crafting policies for the implementation of Fire Safety Enforcement. Based on the impression and perception among the respondents, they adhere to the improvement of a program to construct a better-quality program that will define its mechanism as an effective tool.

This study was able to point out the needed course of action to improve the service quality in the implementation of Fire Safety. With the Fire Safety Implementation Plan, the BFP will be able to maintain and improve its services as it will also influence the stakeholders.
