Abstract
THE CASE
Objectives of the study
To identify the issues encountered by the police operatives in the conduct of by-bust operations;
To determine the number of dismissed cases on the buy-bust operation based on the issues encountered by the police operatives.
To recommend intervention measures to address the issues encountered to address the problem.
Research Methodology
This study utilized the descriptive quantitative method. The researchers used the complied data of RDIMB Region 5 regarding issues encountered police operatives: Buy-bust operation dismissed drug cases supported with interviews to the different investigation who had the personal knowledge of the flow of the investigation from its inception until the filing of criminal complaint. The framework of this study consist of the documents analysis and interviews.
Due to the pandemic brought by COVID-19, the researches heavily relied on the case conference conducted in six (6) Police Provincial Offices and from then data submitted to RIDMD, PRO5 in order to dissect the problems, issues, and concerns encountered during the buy-bust operation that eventually contributed to the dismissal of the criminal.
