Abstract
Community policing during the pandemic is difficult to perform without the social media. Using a descriptive survey method, this study determined how social media could help strengthen the police community relations during this era of the new normal. With 100 police officers and 341 community respondents, it was found that despite the use of social media, there is still limited visibility and physical contact making the community residents think that the police officers do not mind the community anymore and that they are focused on check points for community quarantine; limited internet connectivity making community residents unaware that the police are still monitoring the activities of the community; and the lack of Facebook page for each community allowing the residents not to feel the police presence during the pandemic. Based on the findings of the study, it can be said that policing in the community during the time of pandemic, is not easy. Despite the internet connectivity, may be strong Wi-Fi on areas near the city, but still the community residents could not feel the police presence.
