Abstract
This study aimed to assess the implementation of online firearms renewal system of Firearm and Explosives Main Office for the fiscal year 2023-2024. The Likert-scale researcher modified questionnaire was the data gathering instrument used. The 300 licensees, 21 front liners and 4 divisions/sections chiefs were the respondents of the study. Weighted mean and Pearson Product Moment Correlation were the statistical tools used. There was a slight or weak correlation between the online firearm renewal system in terms of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward the behavior, information system, information quality, and intention to use with the public service quality in terms of tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy as shown by the Pearson r value of 0.291 or 8.5% chance of correlation. Therefore, the statistical decision was to retain the null hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. From the conclusions formulated, it was recommended to formulate an action plan for the enhancement of online firearm renewal system by developing intuitive, mobile compatible online system; implement robust security measures; integrate the renewal system with existing databases; provide clear customer support options; offer offline alternatives for users without internet access; and conduct public awareness campaigns. Furthermore, it was recommended for the public service quality of the firearm renewal system to conduct professional development, wellness program, and counselling support and merits and rewards for the frontliners.
