Abstract
The Integrated Logistics Support is an indispensable tool for providing efficient logistics support to PCG vessels. The life cycle support planning and management can address unnecessary delays in repairing and maintaining PCG vessels. This study aimed to determine the level of implementation of the Integrated Logistics Support System in terms of planning and supply chain management, warehousing, and disposal and to identify issues and challenges encountered by the unit in its implementation. The study utilized the mixed method approach to gather the and analyze data obtained from 41 participants from Coast Guard Fleet and the PCG. Findings revealed a moderate implementation in the Integrated Logistics Support System components. Identified challenges to its implementation were sustainment of materials and services, which included the lack of Integrated Logistics Support program from service providers, lack of support supply planning for vessel repair and maintenance, inconsistent compliance with preventive maintenance schedules (PMS), limited budget for procurement/repair/maintenance, and the need to equip the personnel with logistics, maintenance and repair training. Other challenges cited were improving procurement lead times and lacking warehouses and disposal areas. The study recommended proposing and Integrated Logistics Support policy for CG Fleet, training and capacity building efforts, and development of an in-house database geared towards optimizing fleet operations.
