Abstract
Rape is viewed as heinous, perpetrating emotional and physical trauma on the victim. It looks in the sad plight of victims but fail to investigate the various dimensions associated with the occurrence of rape, such as social, political, geographical, economic, and geographical. Thus, by reviewing reported rape events/cases from 2016 to 2021, this study examined multidimensional aspects of Cases of rape in Dinagat Islands. The researchers investigated the factors that would most likely influence the prevalence of rape cases in the province’s seven municipalities. The study hypothesized that the occurrence of rape cases in Dinagat Islands is attributed to the social, economic, political, cultural, and geographical aspects of the locality. The results of the study showed no particular evidence to establish the relationship of the multidimensional aspects to the incidence of rape cases in DInagat Islands. As an offshoot of the study, an intervention program named Project Kasimbayan is recommended to be launched to help rape victims of Dinagat Islands.
