Abstract
Due to the stint of the COVID-19 pandemic as its cure is not yet recognized, the Philippine National Police (PNP) through its strategic initiative to address the current problem, established quarantine check points and enforced rules and regulations as stated by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infections Diseases (IATF-EID). The focus of this research is the lived experiences of the Manila Police District (MPD) frontliners during the pandemic. The respondents were assigned to different areas under the Area of Responsibility of the MPD that performed vital police operations. This research illustrates how the MPF personnel deal with the COVID-19 virus in terms of risk, readiness and response. It also narrates the challenges encountered and coping mechanism that the MPD personnel imitated. The qualitative analysis of the data drawn from the interviews were transcribed, coded and were subjected to thorough review. These experiences as perceived ae the references of an action plan that will address the gaps in battling the COVID-19 that can be utilized by the MPD personnel.
