ABSTRACT

The efficiency and effectiveness of firefighting operations are critically
dependent on the adequacy of water supply infrastructure. In Monkayo, Davao de
Oro, the current water supply system needs to be improved, leading to significant
challenges in firefighting efforts. This action research aims to assess the current state
of the water supply infrastructure in Monkayo, identify critical areas for
improvement, and develop a comprehensive plan to enhance this infrastructure to
improve firefighting efficiency.
The study employs Infrastructure Management, Emergency Response, and
Community Resilience Theories as its theoretical framework. Data collection methods
include self-reflection by BFP officers, simulated focus group discussions, and
literature review and analysis of existing reports.
The findings highlight the critical need for infrastructure upgrades and provide
a strategic plan for enhancing water supply systems. This research aims to improve
firefighting efficiency in Monkayo and serves as a model for other municipalities
facing similar challenges.
