Abstract
This research investigates the readiness of firefighters in Puerto Princesa City, Philippines to adopt advanced firefighting technologies such as HydroSub water pumps, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)/drones, and firefighting robots. The study employs a
survey approach to assess firefighters' perceptions of these technologies' usefulness, ease
of use, and compatibility with existing practices
This research also explores the moderating effect of firefighter experience (length
of service) on the relationship between perceived usefulness and intention to adopt
advanced firefighting technologies and moderating effect of firefighter age on the
relationship between perceived ease of use and intention to adopt advanced firefighting
technologies. It builds upon the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the
Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) theory to understand the factors influencing technology
adoptioN.
The findings aim to inform recommendations for facilitating the integration of
these advanced technologies within the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Puerto
Princesa City, ultimately enhancing firefighting efficiency
