Abstract
The skills required in intelligence operations are surveillance, dexterity in taking evidences to compose profound proofs of crime commission at the site e.g. location identifications, marking the exact measures and bounds of the crime and profiling of personalities involved in the crime, augmented by their skills in preparing urgent reports before their specimens become stale.

True enough these skills were reflected in the profile of respondents in the study area from their combined courses that they took in college, their young age, especially on the intelligence seminars and trainings they attended and the number of years they were in the intelligence unit or section.

The level of attainment on the objectives in the intelligence program that the intelligence operatives perceived in the study area was also very remarkable and so with their perception on the level of contribution of the intelligence program to crime prevention in the study area was also very much contributing.

However, it is sad to note that in the degree of seriousness of the problems encountered in the intelligence program in the city, came out to be needing particular attention by the higher authorities. The reason of which was the lack of resources, particularly on personnel and budget. That is why the researchers are recommending to the City Director to augment the lack of personnel by multiplying their efforts and skills of the existing personnel in the intelligence units by conducting a 5 day seminars/trainings to address the issue.
