Abstract
This study delves into the stress and burnout levels among BJMP officers in Region 3 through a comprehensive analysis of the challenges faced by officers across various jail facilities. The meticulous distribution of respondents and the notable gender disparities provide a nuanced understanding of the factors influencing stress and burnout levels within the organization. The findings underscore the significance of considering these diverse factors when interpreting the results and designing targeted interventions.
The analysis of the Perceived-Stress-Scale (PSS) and Maslach-Burnout-Inventory (MBI) scores reveals a nuanced picture of the moderate levels of stress and burnout experienced by jail officers. The variations in scores across facilities and the gender differences highlighted in the study shed light on the unique stressors faced by male and female officers. The high correlation between stress and burnout levels among female officers suggests the need for gender-sensitive strategies to address these challenges effectively.
The consistency in stress and burnout levels across facilities, as indicated by the ANOVA results, underscores the need for organization-wide interventions to address these issues comprehensively. The gender differences in stress and burnout levels further emphasize the importance of tailored support strategies that consider the unique needs of male and female officers.
In light of the current challenges faced by the BJMP, such as under staffing and overcrowding in jails, the study's findings serve as a crucial foundation for developing sustainable solutions. Based on my understanding, this is the main idea of the study - understanding workplace factors/vulnerabilities and its correlation to stress and burnout. If so, we can prioritize making this point by putting it in the earlier paragraphs because this is the problem statement.
The study provides a foundation for developing comprehensive, gender-sensitive strategies to address stress and burnout among BJMP officers. By leveraging these insights and considering the broader organizational challenges, stakeholders can create a supportive work environment that fosters resilience and enhances the overall effectiveness of the BJMP. This holistic approach aims to promote the well-being of officers and contribute to a healthier and more resilient workforce.
