This study is intended to assess the appropriateness of one of the most important functional Directorial Staff of the Philippine National Police at the level of the National Headquarters based at Camp Crame in Quezon City - the Office of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations. The Directorate for Integrated Police Operations are different Offices supervising group of Police Regional Offices in close proximity with one another where the objective of the evaluation is to determine the appropriateness of creating PNP-Area Police Office from the present PNP-DIPO in order to achieved further the Objectives of the Philippine National Police which would be more beneficial to the interest of the Public and the State to whom the PNP is mandated to serve and to protect.

DIPO-Northern Luzon supervises PRO Cordillera, PRO1, PRO2 and PRO3, which are basically located at the northern side of the Luzon Island. DIPO-Southern Luzon supervises PRO4A, PRO4B and PROS, which are located at the southern area of the same Luzon Island. DIPO-Visayas supervises all the police regional offices at the Visayas area, namely, PRO6, PRO7 and PRO8. DIPO-Eastern Mindanao supervises PRO Caraga, PRO10 and PRO11, which are basically located at the eastern side of the Mindanao Island. And DIPO-Western Mindanao supervises the remaining PNP Units located at the western side, which are PRO BAR, PRO9 and PRO12.

Basically, utilizing the same concept of the supervisory function of National Capital Regional Police Office with its subordinate Police District Offices, the DIPOs collate and coordinate all the major Anti-Criminality, Anti-Terrorism and Anti-Insurgency Police-Initiated Activities in their respective areas of concerns. With main function of incorporating all available advance information and other necessary documentation in order to pour more valuable data to a certain Police Regional Offices coming from other PRO - the DIPO are based at the National Headquarters in order to gather other necessary information for the same purposes.

Finally, the Offices of the DIPO, in the recent years, especially when the need for a broader participation is required that could make any Police-Initiated Operation against major Anti-Criminality, Anti-Terrorism and Anti-Insurgency are necessary that there are things that DIPO might be able to perform in addition to their function in order to accomplish the Police Objectives of Law Enforcement, Maintenance of Peace and Order and Protection of Lives and Properties by Serving and Protecting the Filipino Citizens in a more pro-active role.
