Abstract
ABSTRACT
An attitude is a psychological state of mind. It is one way a person thinks about situations and determines a person’s behavior. In a workplace, employees have positive and negative attitude towards a specific work task. This could be products or services, employees or management, or in a company as a whole. In Bureau of Fire Protection Region 11 particularly in Davao City has been facing challenges in the safety culture and work attitude. There is a need to improve and manage work performance that causes poor work attitude.
The participants in the study consisted of firefighters of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Davao City Region X1 Philippines. The independent variables are age, sex, civil status, years in the service, highest educational attainment, and position. The dependent variables are safety culture and the work attitude of firefighters.
This research conceptualized that the variables like age, sex, civil status, years in service, highest educational attainment, and position would affect the safety culture and work attitude of firefighters in a workplace.
