Abstract
ABSTRACT

The research intends to assess the need and the extent of need of the fire safety inspectors with service vehicles for inspection to up their performance in promoting fire prevention. We believe that having a service vehicle relieves the fire safety inspectors of the additional burden, like using their own service vehicles, and improved the outputs and performances that will surely define the BFP as public servants, giving good quality service to the people. Collaboration with the Regional Chiefs of FSED and Logistics, Cities/Municipal Fire Marshals, C, FSES, Fire Safety inspectors through formal meetings and casual interviews, journals, online sites, published and unpublished thesis, and books was done in first two steps of research cycle namely constructing and planning action. It was indeed established that the existence of challenges in the inspections brought by lack of service vehicles. One is transportation, second is fuel cost and maintenance, third is discomfort, fourth is unhealthy, fifth is document security, sixth is under performance and lastly low morale. The problem on transportation and fuel cost and maintenance is clearly solved. The fire safety inspectors will no longer find trouble in borrowing vehicles from others or using public transportation, and the government will now shoulder the cost of fuel and maintenance of the vehicles. Same goes to discomforts and unhealthy, the fire inspectors ride with comfort not exposed to extreme heat and heavy rains. The relevant and important documents is secured, free from the threat of getting wet in the rain or loss during transit. Our fire fighters, not only the inspectors are on high morale to experience that the government/BFP is providing supports down the line for the betterment of all concerned. It may take some times, but at least it’s still a direction forward.
