Abstract
ABSTRACT
There are other challenges and issues aside from firefighting. At present, the leased warehouse is comparatively small compared to the firefighting equipment, supplies, especially the fire trucks.
Aside from the main problem of insufficient space, other problems encountered include unauthorized entry at the warehouse, insufficient warehouse equipment, supplies and items stacked high which poses constant hazard, and the lack of warehouse management training.
The researchers believe that the establishment and maintenance of adequately equipped BFP personnel requires timely distribution and proper storing of firefighting equipment, including trucks. There is a lack of optimization, monitoring and control of complex warehouse and distribution activities yard management (fire trucks), inventory management, and others in an efficient manner.
Maintaining the warehouse management records is quite difficult when there is insufficient technical equipment to store and save pertinent data concerning inventory, maintenance, and issuance of equipment and supplies. Likewise, the lack of warehousing facilities makes it hard for logistics personnel to properly store and segregate all supplies and equipment for distribution from those that are due for disposal.
As intervention we propose, accompanied with the results coming the interviews from various collaborators, the prepared recommendations for the conduct of Warehouse Management Training will be submitted at the office of the Director, Logistics Support
Service.
Using Bandura’s Reciprocal Determinism wherein the environment or the organizational culture influences how the personnel thinks and feels and vice versa. Since the Logistics Support Service is experiencing warehouse management problems, we deemed it necessary to conduct training for the personnel. A positive development of the LSS personnel achieved through training (i.e. Warehouse Management Training) will have a positive impact on the organization as well.
Most of the suggestions, aside from the necessity for Warehouse Management Training, include construction or leasing of a spacious warehouse, procurement of lifters, and automation (barcoded) of supplies and properties can be very helpful for quick updating (inventory) and timely accounting.
