ABSTRACT

A healthy mind in a healthy body. A sound mind in a sound body. Health and wellness programs are an integral component of preventive care, in which third party evaluation assessed the BFP on its compliances for health and wellness. Hence, the study was facilitated with the direction of identifying the current issued Memorandum Circulars and/or policies of the BFP relating to Personnel Health and Welfare and/or Personnel Wellness Program; Identifying medical condition of personnel based on available records in order to develop and maintain a preventive healthcare program for the promotion of personnel’s health and well-being; and assess the comprehensive, integrative, effectiveness, and efficiency of the existing health and wellness program responsive to the needs of the BFP personnel. The method of analysis was guided using the action research cycle and meta cycle analysis of inquiry to collaborators using a guide interview in structured questions and qualitative data-documentary of primary of sources. This would enable to efficiently develop and establish a comprehensive, integrated, effective, and efficient health and wellness program responsive to the needs of the BFP uniformed and non-uniformed personnel.

Over the years, BFP leaders issued memorandum circulars and amendments thereof pertaining to its health program for its personnel to possess and maintain a healthy body in order to respond to and perform the mandates of the bureau. About 30% of our lives are spent in the workplace. Hence, a good health and wellness policy in the workplace can improve its personnel’s health behaviors and lower health risks can reduce the incidence of chronic diseases.
