Abstract
The study aimed at developing a model for governance structure that would be relevant in the context of Davao Metropolitan Public Safety and Security. The studiy is intended to identify the relevant Public Safety and Security governance dimensions based on empirical data. Factor analysis yielded seven dimensions, namely, community and private sector involvement, visibility of security forces, strategic LGU support, continuos capability enhancements, responsiveness of structure to development initiatives, accountability, and Human resource development and staffing. Metropolitan public safety and security could be grounded on the seven pillars identified by the study: Community and Private Sector Involvement; Visibility of Security Forces; Strategic LGU Support; Continuous Capability Enhancements; Responsiveness of Structure to Development Initiatives, Accountability, and Human Resource Development and Staffing.
