Abstract
ABSTRACT

This action research addressed Bureau of Fire Protection challenges in the installation of fire protection system in existing building. Based on the observation the evaluation of application for the application for alternative or remedial fire safety measures requires 60 days or more depending on the completeness of documents and availability of assigned evaluator. This existing long process is due to redundancy in evaluation and documentary requirements and lack of duly designated licensed engineer or architect designated to evaluate, assist and monitor the application for the alternative fire safety measures.

The improvement of the existing process would address the challenges in the installation of the fire protection system in existing buildings. As a BFP personnel we collaborated with the Quezon City Fire District Director, Chief Fire Safety Enforcement Branch and other of Quezon City BFP personnel to improve and implement the proposed new Process in the BFP.

These challenges or issues were all successfully dealt with by the collaborators as we all geared toward the success of the new process to address the challenges in the installation of fire protection system in existing building.
