Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the mental health and psychosocial intervention of the National Capital Region Police Office personnel after crisis/disaster in the NCR in the aspect of human resources health services, coordination and mobilization and support.
This study made use three twenty-seven (327) respondents consisting of three groups namely: NCRPO-RMFB personnel composed of 228 uniformed personnel, eight (8) Health Service personnel and ninety one (91) DMFB operating unites personnel. Before the start of the survey, appropriate permission and endorsement was obtained to formalize the request for the accommodation and support from the Regional Director, NCRPO for the conduct of the survey. The survey instruments and the interview guide and FGD were used in gathering the needed data. This study was conducted in area jurisdiction of NCRPO. Based on the data gathered, the NCRPO-RMFB personnel, Health Service personnel and DMFB operating units personnel evaluate the evaluate the mental health and psychosocial intervention of the National Capital Region Police Office personnel after crisis/disaster in the NCR in terms of human resources, health service, coordination and mobilization and support posting and AWM of 2.89 which correspond to an Observable mean. The factors affecting the mental health psychosocial intervention of the NCRPO personnel after a crisis obtained an AWM of 3.00 with a description of Serious. A recommended mean of 3.0 was obtained on the proposed measures to enhance the mental health and psychosocial intervention of NCRPO personnel after a crisis.
On the basis of the established findings, the following conclusions were drawn Metal Health disorders encompass a range of conditions including anxiety, trauma, depressive, and psychotic disorders; Mental health disorders are a serious public health problem among uniformed personnel in the National Capital Region. A wide variety of psychosocial interventions play a major role in the treatment of mental health disorders; No standard system is in place to ensure that the psychosocial interventions delivered to the unformed personnel of the Philippine National Police are observable during post crisis; The mental health and psychosocial intervention use delivery system for applying strategies to improve the evidence base for and increase the uptake of high-quality evidence-based interventions in the delivery of care; The proposed measures to enhance the mental health and psychosocial intervention of the National Capital Region Police Office uniformed personnel after crisis; and the action is geared towards addressing the various problems identified towards the enhancement of the mental health and psychosocial intervention of the Philippine National Police uniformed personnel in the Nation Capital Region. Based on the foregoing conclusions, the following recommendations are hereby submitted; Increasing emphasis on accountability and performance measurement, to promote and measure the quality of mental health and psychosocial interventions among NCRPO uniformed personnel after crisis; Develop quality measures for psychosocial interventions, to be elevated to a positions of equal regard with physical health care, that the measurement and improvement strategies used in mental health care likewise be equated with those used in physical health care, and that the importance of context and infrastructure for high-quality psychosocial interventions receive greater emphasis; Mental health and psychosocial interventions be considered in terms of their elements of therapeutic change, and that these elements be subject to systematic reviews, quality measurement and quality improvement efforts would be afforded the same importance in mental health care that they have physical health care; Establish methods for successfully implementing and sustaining mental health and psychosocial interventions; and in the light of the findings and conclusion of the study, the researchers strongly recommend the adoption of proposed action plan to promote quality measures for mental health and psychosocial interventions.
