Abstract
The study evaluated the effectiveness of the PNP anti-illegal drugs campaign of the Pampanga police office among its youths. Specially, this study determined how the stakeholders perceive the PNP anti-illegal drug campaign in the self-development of the youths in Pampanga in terms of the perception of the youth, the PNP implementers and the community people; identified the challenges encountered by the PNP implementers and the recommendations of the stakeholders on the Pampanga PPO anti-illegal drugs campaign programs; and proposed an action plan to address the identified in the study.
The study was conducted in Pampanga province from June 2022 to January 2023. There were 247 purposively selected youth respondents and 271 implementer and stakeholders respondents. A structured survey questionnaire was utilized the study in addition with interviews, and focus group discussions.
The result show that the respondent perceived the campaign activities were effective in influencing the overall self-development of the youths. with regards to illegal drugs, the campaign was effective in influencing the knowledge of the youth, helped build a positive attitude among the youth, effective in causing a positive change of practice among the youth, and effective in the development and improvement of the skills of the youth. The Pampanga anti-illegal drug campaign programs and activities also had a positive perception among most of the respondents and stakeholders. It was therefore recommended that the anti-illegal drug campaign for the youth in Pampanga be institutionalized for it to be maintained and sustained despite any challenges faced.
