Abstract
Part 1. CASE STUDY
Introduction

As Covid-19 became a pandemic that greatly affected the world, the education systems diversity and drastically changed. Both teachers and student adjust to the rise of the new approach, the blended learning. Blended learning blended is the use of technological resources such us as online and digital techniques enhancing the traditional teaching methods. True enough, schools and educational institutions are pushed to adopt the blended learning because of the current situation. Although this approach has already been introduced years back in first-word countries, its context is still new in the Philippines. Thus, even those in the graduate school, including those undergoing mandatory schooling in the uniformed service are adapting.

This group’s case study focuses on the student officer’s experiences undergoing the Public Safety Officers Advance Course using blended learning. The topic and subtopics in the next discussion will cover the following: (1) tools essential for blended learning, (2) the conductive environment for their classes, (3) their means of internet connectivity, (4) the most convenient/ user friendly Operating System, and (5) the technical capabilities that would affect their preparation and performance for their academic requirements.

The Case

The National Police College (NPC), A very significant institution that offers public safety officers mandatory schooling, adapts to blended learning. NPC’s goal is to provide proper and excellent education to student officers even during this time of health crisis.

Therefore, this group chose to gather relevant and factual information to know and perhaps, later aid the institution on their goal. The case study topic, “Blending with the New Normal: The PSOAC Students’ experience,” aims to determine the necessary tools, technical knowledge, and skills that a student officer must be equipped and possess in the new approach of blended this approach.

The PSOAC Classes 2022-01 to 04 are the pioneer classes which the NPC first introduced the alternative medium of instruction that is through virtual or digital platforms. However, it is a fact that in very new system, there are pros student officers, professors and NPC staff to have a gasp and likewise, possible opportunities and strategies to enhance this approach.
