Abstract
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This area study is centered on the municipality of Sison in the Province of Pangasinan. The theoretical framework that is being utilized are the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and the Ludden Theory on Area Study. The Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs encompasses all the necessary ingredient for social development. The hint is that Maslow’s classic theory of hierarchy of needs is a well-known framework of understanding how a society is being operational in nature. The Ludden theory of Area study. The rationale for area studies for itself derives from the need to understand the diversity of human experience, which is increasingly embroiled in identity politics and debates about cultural pluralism. Local administrators, legislators, and funding agencies now find the old rationale for area studies less compelling and institutional support for the production of area-specific knowledge.

The area study has utilized the Qualitative research design and Phenomenological research design. Qualitative research is concerned with the capturing the richness and depth of human experiences, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors. It aims to go beyond simple statistical analysis and uncover insights that quantitative research may not be able to capture while Phenomenological research is a qualitative research approach that builds on the assumption that the universal essence of anything ultimately depends eon how its audience experiences it. Phenomenological researchers record and analyze beliefs, feelings, and perceptions of the audience they’re looking to study in relation to the thing being studied. Only the audience’s views matter – the people who have experienced the phenomenon. The researcher’s personal assumptions and perceptions about the phenomenon should be irrelevant. Phenomenology is a type of qualitative research as it requires in-depth understanding of the audience’s thoughts and perceptions of the phenomenon, you’re researching.
