Abstract
ABSTRACT
Children as the future of our Nation were exposed to world changes brought by
global warming and technological aspects. As Adults are more focused on life
achievement, work success, financial sources, family needs and other priorities, we
neglect the chance of incorporating safety and preparedness to students who focus more
on their studies (Department for Education commissioned in Kantar Public and Learning
and Work Institute, 2018).
We gathered qualitative data from our 7 groups of collaborators. We used The
Ladder of Inference by Argyris (1982) and Senge (1994) in analyzing the situation that
avoids us in making the wrong conclusion. We also applied the ORJI method to help us
in addressing the gap of misunderstanding. The Complex Dynamics of Action Research
by Coghlan (2019), Lewis Change Management Model and SMART Goals Framework
that helps us in planning the appropriate activities for its implementation.
Lev Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory views human development as a socially mediated process in which children acquire their cultural values, beliefs, and problem-
solving strategies through collaborative dialogues with more knowledgeable members of
society. Thus the BFP, would like to grab the opportunity in enhancing fire safety and
emergency preparedness among students by adding related topics in their school
curriculum. With this the components are the following: incorporation of fire safety,
standard first aid and basic rescue lifting and moving to the students’ curriculum;
training of facilitators to empower them in teaching the students; the creation of a training
module for BFP Lecturers and adding it to the Program of Instruction for Orientation Recruit Course; make use of the Oplan Ligtas na Paaralan Guidebook in the creation of
modules; the Sineskwela Laban sa Sunog Program as alternative learning aids and
performance task. With this initiative, we will be closer to a more fire safe nation in the
future.
